Chapter 51: Executive Decision

Qi Ying knew that Duan Gucheng harbored ill intentions toward him, as his eyes immediately locked onto him after the door was opened. He could see from the cold light in Duan Gucheng’s eyes that he meant trouble.

As expected, he commanded in an indifferent voice, “Qi Ying, come with me.”

Those were simple words, but they possessed an undefiable quality to them.

The disciples behind Duan Gucheng were also exuding menacing auras.

The teacher’s brows furrowed, but he didn’t say anything. Even though Duan Gucheng was an academy disciple, he was equal in status to the elders of the academy. In comparison, an old man like him who was only trying to teach for a living was far too insignificant, so he didn’t dare to speak up.

The entire classroom had fallen silent. Half of the disciples turned to Qi Ying in unison, trying to gauge his reaction.

Everyone knew about the conflict between Qi Ying and the Duan family. There had been many small scuffles leading up to the shocking mass murders that had taken place recently, and Qi Ying had been detained as a suspect… The two parties could be said to be sworn enemies, and any confrontation between them felt like it could erupt into a full-blown battle at any moment!

Qi Ying didn’t move, as he remained in his seat. All he did was return Duan Gucheng’s gaze with a frosty one of his own.

A smile appeared on the young master’s face, and the blush on the female disciples’ faces deepened even further. “Come with me or we’ll be visiting the mountain behind the academy!”

Qi Ying abruptly stood up from his seat and walked toward Duan Gucheng as countless pairs of eyes followed him.

He shouldn’t have said that.

Duan Tianshan had made the same threat to him in the past and he was dead.

It didn’t matter who it was; anyone who touched the dragon’s wrath scale would die by its hands!

Duan Gucheng wore a triumphant smile, as if he had successfully goaded Qi Ying into his trap.

Meanwhile, at the Duan mansion.

Duan Hongxue had his hands clasped behind his back, and he wore a grave expression as Duan Huangye’s body was lowered into a black coffin. “Is it really alright? Asking Gucheng to pick on Qi Ying? What if… the same thing that happened on that street happens again?”

Duan Xilai replied with a calm and collected expression, “It’ll be fine. Think about it; how many teachers in the academy are on our side? Even one of their elders is from our Duan family. Gucheng himself is also quite a powerful warrior at the Eighth Energy Martial Stage, and the disciples under his wing are no slouches either. Even if Yan Thirteen is Qi Ying’s backer, he wouldn’t dare to do anything out of line in the academy. As for Qi Ying… He’s just a useless kid, so we don’t have to worry about him.”

Duan Hongxue heaved a long sigh. “For some reason, I’m still feeling a little concerned.”

“What are you worried about?”

“Qi and Yan are no ordinary surnames… Perhaps, I’m simply overthinking things…”

“Hahaha!” Duan Xilai burst into laughter and said, “You really are being overly cautious, uncle. It’s just a coincidence that their surnames are Qi and Yan. If they really are from those two colossal families, then how did they end up in a place like this?”

“You’re right…”

“So, don’t worry, uncle. It will be a piece of cake for Gucheng to teach that Qi Ying a lesson! Even if we can’t force Yan Thirteen out from the shadows, we’ll at least be able to win back some dignity for our Duan family. After all, the younger members of our family will have to attend the Celestial River Academy in the future.”

Duan Gucheng’s group walked up ahead, while Qi Ying followed along from behind. They slowly approached the small mountain path where he had once pummeled Duan Renshan. At that moment, someone sprang out and grabbed onto Qi Ying. “You can’t go with them! You’ll die!”

It was An Ruyi again!

Qi Ying sighed before shaking her off. “Thank you, but just let me be.”

He couldn’t cower in such a situation!

No matter what Duan Gucheng wanted to do, Qi Ying had confidence in his own power. He had even defeated the Fire Kirin Beast, so it would not be an easy task for Duan Gucheng and his group to threaten his life!

An Ruyi wore an extremely urgent and frustrated expression. “Are you stupid? You know you’re walking to your death, but you’re still going with them?”

“I told you to leave me alone!” Qi Ying gritted his teeth and pushed An Ruyi aside, “Go!”

An Ruyi stomped her foot and wanted to say something more, when Duan Gucheng’s group suddenly stopped. Duan Gucheng turned around and asked. “Young mistress of the An family, would it be wise for you to intervene in the matters of our Duan family? Unless, you share some kind of relationship with Qi Ying?”

“She has nothing to do with me; she’s just clinging to me like a barnacle to a ship.” Qi Ying remarked in a cold voice.

An Ruyi stared at Qi Ying with incredulity. She had indeed caused some trouble for him, but did he have to be so cruel with his words? What a horrible man he was!

She glowered at Qi Ying with a resentful expression before running into the distance.

Duan Gucheng chuckled. “Aren’t you being a little too heartless? I can tell that she’s interested in you. If you sweet-talk her a little, you should be able to take her down. If you put in a little more effort, you might even get her into bed.”

Qi Ying replied with a cold expression. “I’d rather not stoop to your level. So, what do you want with me?”

A smile appeared on Duan Gucheng’s face again, and that smile could entrance many young women, but Qi Ying was only filled with disgust and contempt at the sight of it. He had seen many people from the Duan family wear that high and mighty expression, and the more he looked at it, the more he wanted to wipe it off his face.

“Nothing much, I just wanted to talk about some things. In the past, you had a conflict with Duan Yuan, Duan Jin, and the others, and embarrassed everyone from the Duan family in the academy. The young disciples from the Wang and Sun families are looking down on us, saying that we can’t even take care of a Low Division disciple. I was hoping that Duan Yuan and Duan Jin could redeem themselves, but they’re dead now, so I can only do their job for them. However, I’m not a fan of violence. I don’t want to stir up any trouble, so let’s settle this in a more peaceful manner.”

“What do you propose?” Qi Ying’s brows furrowed.

Duan Gucheng appeared to have good intentions, but Qi Ying could sense from his demeanor that he was not being genuine in the slightest!

Furthermore, if he really wanted to settle things peacefully, then why did he bring so many people with him? Additionally, they were all disciples from the Intermediate and High Divisions, including the remaining three Heavenly Monarchs!

Duan Gucheng clasped his hands behind his back and appraised Qi Ying with a disdainful expression. “Here is my idea. You just have to write the words ‘I am the Duan family’s dog, and I eat sh*t from the Duan family’s toilet every day’ on your face. Then, walk a couple of laps around the academy every day, and recite the words on your face to everyone you encounter. If you do that, our differences will be resolved! Hey, don’t get so mad. It does sound like a bit of an executive decision, but it took me a whole night to think of that! Why do you look so angry? Haha!”
